Fitness Tip: Nordic Walking: Video

If you’ve seen people speed walking around town or up your favorite trail with poles in their hands, don’t worry, they’re not going to poke and prod you. They’re just taking part in a new fitness trend called “Nordic walking”. And you don’t have to be in the Nordic region, or anywhere near it, to take advantage. You can do it anywhere. It’s easy, fun and offers more health benefits than traditional walking alone.



You’ll burn more calories, increase your oxygen consumption, and work out your upper body as well as your legs… all while exerting no more energy than you would if you were plain-old-regular walking. So kiss the gym goodbye and grab a pair of Nordic poles instead. Just don’t poke anyone.
