bike-sculptureIf you like bicycles, you'll love this statue. This huge Egyptian-style obelisk structure is aptly named, "The Cyclisk," and is made entirely of recycled bicycles.

The giant ode to bicycles was created by artists Mark Grieve and Ilana Spector, who said collecting the bicycles for the piece saved garbage from entering the city landfill while providing beautiful art to the city of Santa Rosa, CA.

"Made of recycled bicycle gears, rims, frames and hoops, [Cyclisk] will be a series of intersecting rhythms – a visual metaphor for the human experience – technology and the humanities – history and the future – individual and collective. Evoking a ‘world of possibilities,’ it will be a work communicating to all walks of life – all ages, relevant for years to come....”

What do you think of The Cyclisk? Would you like a similar sculpture in your city?
