Lindsey Vonn is the world's fastest female skier... and she's all set to prove it at the upcoming 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Vonn's Olympic prospects look good. She's favored in 3 ski races and is a medal contender in two more. If she skis as well as is expected, she could also make history - no American Alpine skier has ever won more than two medals in their career. Vonn is set to do that in her first Olympics.

She talks about what inspires her, what (and who) challenges her and how she recovers from crashes in this great video from The New York Times Olympic series. (Read More to watch.)


"I'm excited. Of course, I'm nervous," she says in the video. "But not about going fast. I'm not afraid of skiing. I'm not afraid of falling."
