Wayne Gullatt STP customerSierra Trading Post would be nothing without the support and loyalty of our customers. From day one, (over 23 years ago) we’ve put our customers first and have always believed that to be the key to our success.

To test our theory, we decided to reach out to our most loyal friends, those who have been shopping with us for years. We wanted to get to know them, hear their stories and learn about their experiences with Sierra Trading Post. So we sent them each a letter asking them to share their MySTP Story, or the reason they’ve been shopping with us for so long… here’s the second response.

Wayne Gullatt's MySTP story

Wayne Gullatt has been ordering from Sierra Trading Post since 1986 and remembers hearing about the catalog from friends. "There was no color in the catalog, but there were the most beautiful sketches that really got your attention," he says. "Right away I noticed the quality of the brand names. They were all names I was familiar with. And then I saw the discounts and I thought it was just great."

Wayne has done a lot of shopping with STP over the years - he's purchased everything from camping gear, skiing gear and backpacking gear, to luggage, sleeping bags, tents, poles and New Balance running shoes.

Wayne says he's never been disappointed during the 20+ years he's been shopping with STP. "I can't say that about any other company," he says. "I've never once been disappointed with Sierra Trading Post."

One STP experience that stands out in Wayne's mind was when he called to place an order back in the 1980's and owner Keith Richardson answered the phone himself. "I remember placing an order and then realizing that I was speaking with the owner of the company," he says. "I was really impressed, I mean here he is taking orders over the phone and doing whatever he needs to do for the company. That made a big impression on me then and it still does today."

Wayne says he admires STP's mission statement and has found the "We Believe" statement to be consistent across company lines. "Treating people the way you would want to be treated goes a long way," says Wayne.

"Keith is my kind of guy," says Wayne. "Please give him my regards."

Thank you for your continued business and loyalty to Sierra Trading Post, Wayne!
