It was a gorgeous day—not too warm, not too cold, scattered clouds—and would have made for a perfect, easy-going, patio party Sunday. But three of us from Sierra woke up and decided it was a good day to try out our new running shoes... over 13.1 miles and heck of a lot of hills.

The Horsetooth Half Marathon is a gorgeous run around a sparkling reservoir lined with red rock cliffs and towering mountain views. It’s so pretty that you hardly notice the 1000’ elevation gain (and by "hardly" I mean "really"). And even though I had sore legs for days afterwards, it was well worth it. There was a great band at the after-party, too. Maybe that’s what was worth it. No, no, it was the fact that we pushed ourselves to the limits and accomplished a goal… you know, the whole “I think I can, I think I can… wow, I really can” thing.

Run any races this spring? Send us some photo proof and tell us which one. We’ll pick a few based on who looks the most psyched to be done running. If you were the most exhilarated, we’ll post your photo and send you a gift certificate. I don’t care how fast you run a mile, you can’t beat that.
