  1. What to take on the John Muir Trail?

    So, a bunch of us outdoors bloggers are planning on hiking the John Muir Trail in 12 days (2 weeks if you include travel time to and from the trail heads.) Of course, we have to do it light and we need to take bear cannisters. It should be an awesome trip and we will be doing videos and taking photos. Each day will be approximately 18 miles of hiking. It's not so bad if you consider that we have at least 16 hours of daylight and therefore have plenty of

  3. Quick question about your water purification

    I started as a drink from mountain streams guy (I never got sick) and when I didn't have a mountain stream I would boil. I've never used chemicals (because of the time delay and because not all chemicals kill all the bad stuff). I didn't care for filters as the seemed to take forever and were bulky. Now I've spliced a back flushable, life time sawyer filter ( into my water bladder hose that I can also use to drip filter.
