At Sierra Trading Post, the only thing we love more than being in the outdoors is seeing the photos our fans share of their adventures. Each month we run the Share Your Adventure Photo Contest and we ask our fans to vote for their favorite photos on our Facebook page. Below are the three photo contest winners for our March contest.
3rd Place – Alyssa Biel
“The flying squirrel you see here is attempting the leap on the climb John’s Jump in the Needles of the Black Hills of South Dakota. I’ve never made the leap myself, but I hear the jump back is the hardest part! The climber is Benjamin Jackson.” Alyssa goes on to say, “This was taken with my point & shoot Nikon so it was literally a once in a million chance that I actually caught Ben mid-jump like I did. The second person who jumped, Andrew, did more of a torso-forward leap which made for a funnier silhouette, and scary because we thought he looked less like he was going to make it.”
2nd Place – Colin Sibbernsen
Colin says, “This is a photo of myself taken by my friend, Chris Dickson, atop Iceberg Peak. This peak sits directly above the iconic Iceberg Lake in Glacier National Park. It was an absolutely incredible day for a climb on a crisp August morning in GNP.”
1st Place – James Nelson
“My friend Jerry Cross bringing one of the oar boats over for rigging just after dawn. Taken during a 16 day private float trip down the Colorado river last spring.”
